As Charlie posted earlier, the final score was 6-1, Colorado College
winning it. It was nice to be able to see a home game again. Now if
they'll only play as well tomorrow afternoon to finally get another sweep
and widen their lead, instead of the trend of splitting the weekend that's
been happening lately.
In the first CC got on the board around 8 minutes when Jason Christopherson
stole the puck at the St. Cloud blue line, took it up near the goal, and fed
it to R.J. Enga. The lead didn't last too long, as CC got a penalty soon
after and Dave Holum scored a power play goal for St. Cloud. Chad Remackel
would put in the first of three Tiger power play goals to regain the lead
at 2-1. In the second, Kent Fearns put in his own rebound for a power play
goal and Ryan Reynard also scored during a man advantage. In the third,
Colin Schmidt scored, and with about 3 1/2 minutes left, Stewart Bodtker
got a shorthanded goal when Stone left the net open. Bach played outstanding
in the net, blocking a lot of shots and even caught one that we all thought
had bounced off of him and into the net for a St. Cloud score.
CC now has a 6 point lead in the league over now second place Minnesota.
Same teams tomorrow afternoon for the rematch.
