It's not often hockey-l gets scooped by rec.sport.hockey, but I think it
happened here.  I don't recall reading anywhere what the format of the CCHA
playoffs was going to be after UAF became a full member.

I also haven't seen anything here about the Miami head-coaching vacancy, so I'll
(hesitantly) pass along that the St. Paul paper sports gossip columnist (Charley
Walters) says today that Gopher assistant Mark Mazzoleni will pass up the job to
sign on for 3 more years a Minnesota.  I find it hard to believe that anybody's
had the chance to pass up the job yet at this point, but it's good to know that
the rumor mill is at least starting to grind on this one.  Maybe we'll hear
something a little more reliable soon.
