Posted on behalf of the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport:
Volunteer Opportunity
The Seashore Trolley Museum Library in Kennebunkport is seeking a volunteer Librarian.
Position description: Duties include maintenance and protection of the collection, preparation and oversight of an annual budget, answering (or referring) occasional reference questions, and attending monthly meetings of the Library Committee, and making regular reports to the Museum's Board of Trustees. The Librarian works closely with the Museum's Library Committee to guide the Library's growth and to develop strategic goals. The Librarian is assisted by a dedicated group of volunteers who work on preserving, describing, and cataloging the collection. The time commitment can vary widely: our current Librarian puts in approximately 20 - 40 hours per month.
Qualifications: Some library or archival experience preferred. Basic administrative skills would be useful. Good communication skills essential. Proficiency with email and access to the internet a must. Knowledge of transportation history would be beneficial, but can be learned on the job.
This volunteer position would be a great résumé builder for anyone interested in library/archival work or transportation history.
Please send a letter of interest with a brief overview of your skills and qualifications to Amber Tatnall, [log in to unmask]
