A note from listening to the away games: It sure is nice to listen to the
Gophers on radio this year.  It doesn't get much better than Hall-of-Fame
broadcaster Al Shaver!
 
My favorite trivia of the evening:
First regular-season goal in new Mariucci scored by:  Andy Brink
Last regular-season goal in old Mariucci scored by:  Andy Brink
 
Player of the Game (from MSC broadcast):  Brian Bonin (He had a power play goal,
a short-handed goal, and an assist and Nick Checco's first collegiate goal.)
 
Best Quote:  Tom Reid (on the MSC broadcast) quoted Doug Woog, commenting on the
Braille signage in the new arena, "that's for the on-ice officials."
 
Also, Carol was right in that the crowd may have been quieter because we're a
little inhibited while getting used to our new neighbors.  I don't think people
are quite ready to start a "pull-your-head-out" chant (and believe me, it was in
order!) when they don't know the people around them.  (Personally, it didn't
stop me much, except that I didn't quite feel right joining in the "Norm Green
sucks!"  chant with (former North Star) Bobby Smith in the row in front of me!)
There was a core group of loud students in the section next to me, though, and
I'm sure they'll get things going.  Hey, it's the NE section!
