From the Minneapolis Star Tribune this morning:
 
The Boston Bruins signed free-agent center Fred Knipscheer of St. Cloud State.
 In keeping with club policy, terms were not released. Last season, Knipscheer,
 23, was the WCHA's fourth leading scorer with 34 goals and 26 assists in 36
games. He was a first-team all-WCHA section and a second-team All-America.
