An emergency meeting of the Regents of the University of North Dakota was called today so that the Regents could decide whether to (1) attend the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament in St. Paul, MN as the Fighting Sioux, (2) disband the hockey team and not attend the tournament, or (3) attend the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament under a different mascot-name. Kowtowing to the Indiana based NCAA, the Regents voted to call the team the North Dakota Flickertails, the mascot-name before the Fighting Sioux, and to pay for new uniforms to be made before the Thursday start of the hockey tournament.

Rumor has it that Flickertails throughout the state of North Dakota are organizing to force the Regents to pay them for the use of their name, claiming an infringement of their copyrighted name. The Regents claimed they will avoid all attempts at blackmail this time around.
