My point was not whether the school owns the arena.  Rather, there was some
provision in the deal (whether it was gift or long term lease)  that was
meant to ensure that UND did not forego the use of Fighting Sioux.

As matter of fact,  a long term lease probably makes that easier to enforce
than an outright gift to the school.  Anyway, it should prove interesting to
see how that issue gets resolved since the news articles specifically state
that the Sioux emblem logos must be removed from their arena.

I imagine that this issue is not over but is just heating up yet again.

Either that or my memory is completely off base and I'm going through
another of my off season hallucinations again
