RE: the Schott/Value Center Arena

We parked on Thursday in the Buckeye lot and it took FOREVER to get out
after the second game. On Saturday, we parked in an OSU faculty/staff
lot just down the street from the Schott on Lane. It took us just a
couple of minutes to drive away.

The sightlines for us were great, we were in 304. We had a great view
of the entire ice (and of that weird little camera scooting back and
forth along the glass on the far side).

We had dinner on Friday in Worthington at the Ruth's Chris Steak House,
and who was there but the North Dakota hockey team! So apparently we
are the jinx: if we wish a team good luck in the national title game,
they are doomed. Note: we didn't woof....

Overall, I thought Columbus as a host city was way better than Buffalo
(well, you don't have to go far to be better than Buffalo), but not as
good as Boston. People were friendly, service everywhere we went was
great; we felt very much welcomed. We went looking for local breweries
on Saturday, only to discover that they do not open til 5 p.m. We like
to sample the local brews, and to bring home a sample we had to go to
Kroger.

It was good to see so many UNH jerseys at the games, even if none of
them were on the ice.

Go Cats! (someday)
