This one is not about money- just some fuzzy thinking. I see no harm in one
rule for all schools. Grandfathering is foolish and unfair. Why not just have a
rule that says a D3 institution can opt for D1 status (and scholarships) in
one sport? If it is good enough for RPI it ought to be good enough
SUNY-Plattsburgh. Union is intellectually consistent. Maybe there should be a 4th
division. This rule with grandfathering has the potential to curb the growth of D1
hockey.
