The proposal to expand the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
from 12 to 16 teams, together with expansions of men's lacrosse and
women's softball, was approved Tuesday by the NCAA Division I Management
Council, according to the following article:

If the plan is approved by the NCAA Board of Directors, which meets
April 23, it will take effect.
