    St. Francis Xavier 0 0 0 = 0

The Brown Bears pinned a 5-0 shutout on the St. Francis Xavier X-Men in
an exhibition game played this evening at Meehan Auditorium.

Senior forward J-F Labarre (St. Adolphe, QUE) led the Brown scorers with
the first and last goals of the contest, while sophomore defenseman Vince
Macri (Durham, NH), sophomore forward Brent Robinson (Pointe Claire, QUE),
and freshman forward Chris Davidson (Wolfville, NS) each contributed single
markers.

The goaltending duo of senior Brian Eklund (Braintree, MA) and sophomore
Yann Danis (Lafontaine, QUE) handled the netminding chores for Brown, with
Eklund making 19 saves during the first two periods and Danis stopping eight
shots in the final stanza.

The victory provides the Bears with a bit of momentum going into their
regular season ECAC opening game against the Harvard Crimson at Bright
Hockey Center in Cambridge, MA next Saturday evening. This contest is
represents the 133rd renewal of the oldest continuing rivalry in college
hockey dating back to January 19, 1898.
