GOPHERS DOWN MAVERICKS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Ambria Thomas scored a pair of third-period goals and Erica Killewald
recorded her fourth shutout of the season as Minnesota defeated Minnesota
State, Mankato 4-0.

The Gophers, who have never trailed the Mavericks in 14 meetings, didn't get
on the board until two minutes, 14 seconds into the second period when Laura
Slominski scored her ninth goal of the season.

Minnesota took a 2-0 lead when Nadine Muzerall carried the puck into the
MSU, Mankato zone on the right side centered the puck to Kris Scholz, who
got the puck behind Maverick goalie Shari Vogt. The goal for Scholz, her
fourth of the year, came in her 100th consecutive game.

Thomas then scored twice in the final period, getting the first just 56
seconds into period and a power-play goal at 5:18.

Minnesota held a 41-16 advantage in shots on goal for the game. Killewald
stopped 16 shots while Vogt made 37 saves.
