From information in the Star Tribune 2/13/92 and 2/14/92 in articles by
 John Gilbert, Staff Writer.

 GOPHERS UPDATE
The top two lines are set with Craig Johnson centering Darby
Hendrickson and Jeff Nielsen, and Larry Olimb centering Trent Klatt and Cory
Laylin. Some attempts are being made to boost the balance of scoring of all
four lines this week. Woog ahas put Steve Magnusson centering Scott Bell and
John Brill, with Tony Bianchi centering Justin McHugh and Joe Dziedzic.

The Gophers lead the WCHA in goals-against at 2.83 and have
averaged 5.0 goals per game. They are scoring at 25 percent on power plays
and have an 85 percent success rate in killing penalties.

 AROUND THE WCHA
In the battle to avoid last place (and miss the playoffs),
St Cloud State plays at Denver, where the host Pioneers need a sweep to have a
chance to make the playoffs. Northern Michigan, which has a 1-7-1 mark in its
last nine games, faces a sudden neighborhood battle for third place in a
home-and-home series against Michigan Tech. Fifth place Minnesota-Duluth, one
point out of third, plays at sixth-place North Dakota, with both still seeking
third or fourth and home ice for the playoffs. Wisconsin is solidly in second
but only eight points separate third from eighth. With four weekends left in
the regular season, the Gophers are the only team among the top six with a full
complement of eight games left. Wisconsin, Northern Michigan, Minnesota-Duluth
and North Dakota each have six games and Michigan Tech has only four.

As you can see, the WCHA is as tight as I've ever seen it. Well this
should make for an interesting final few weeks of the season!

Someone brought up the topic of nicknames a few days back and here are a few of
