<Now, *discussion* is a case in which there is no punitive consequence -- i.e
., the speaker's restaurant can never go out of business, no matter how
awful it is.

This has hardly been a discussion, more like a bad review of a good place to
dine. Dissenting opinion is not on the list menu.
For you to assume, that no one else on this list is interested in, or
appreciates the topic or the information gleaned is really hard for me to
swallow.

<fools do not often see their own foolishness..

Often the real fool, poisoned by his own
self-admiration, wallowing in it, unable to discern reality, chokes on the
truth.

<The feedback mechanism ordinarily associated with discussion
<is that people eventually ignore the speaker, in embarrassment for <them,
disgust, boredom...

The list is a public forum, not a club for members only. All topics related
to college hockey are relevant. People are afraid to post how they really
feel for fear of being flamed.
I've received numerous private posts expressing this sentiment, as well as
support for expressing my opinions openly and sharing injury and equipment
related information despite list intolerance.

Your restaurant serves pompous rump roast, all grizzle. (-:

OK, now for a serious discussion with someone who can have a differing
opinion and not get burnt and leave the list. You wouldn't do that, would you
Greg?
