Yesterday's Detroit Free Press and Detroit News had articles about the
upcoming Wayne State hockey program. It was officially anounced that former
WMU coach Bill Wilkinson will be the coach. The article said that they will
play a 20 game schedule next season. It looks like games against Canisius,
Sacred Heart, Army, and Air Force are among the 10+ games scheduled so far. It
was also stated that the D1 independent scheduling alliance will include them
the following season. It was also stated that they hope to be playing in the
CCHA in by the their third season.
