Day one at the Women's Canadian Nationals at the University of Toronto
found the Ontario Champion Laurier defeating the Quebec second place
finisher McGill 2-0. It was a match highlighted by defensive play.
Laurier looks to be a tough team to beat, with a strong defense and some
interesting forwards.
In the second contest, Concordia, the Quebec Champion defeated the host,
the University of Toronto 3-2. The game was tied up by Toronto in the
last 30 seconds with two quick goals. There was no scoring in the 10
minute OT and Concordia won the shootout 2-1. The first half of the match
featured the brilliant swarming style of Concordia. What a treat!
Today I get to see for the first time the Alberta Pandas and the X-Women
of Xavier. X-Women???!!!
