Having followed Hockey-L for almost six years now, it is quite
clear that some topics repeat themselves periodically. On the
topic of many people receiving penalties at the same time, I know
that in the 1967-68 season (I think that was the year), Colgate
was leading RPI at RPI when a fight broke out. So many players
received penalties that neither team had enough players left to
send the minimum amount of skaters on the ice. The refs awarded
the game to Colgate.

When this topic came up several years ago, Mike Machnik commented
that this situation was not unique in days before fighting majors
carried suspensions for subsequent games.
