Alabama-Huntsville has been playing D-II since the championship was reinstituted
for that level in 1993. That year, the NCAA changed its policy regarding
schools that sponsorsed sports which the NCAA did not host a championship for.
There were 12 D-II schools at the time (with Sacred Heart adding the sports two
years later) that were forced to return to D-II after competing in hockey at the
D-III level.

Just a little background and food for thought. Enjoy!
