You bring us an interesting point with respect to assistant referees
(linesman) making calls.  During the OSU-LSSU playoff series the assistant
referees called 2 penalties on Friday and at least 1 (mabey 2, I can't
remember) on Saturday.  This is the first time all season that I've seen
them actualy *call* a  penalty and that's out of the 18 OSU games that I've
seen this year.  Is it a point -of-emphasis in the playoffs for them to
make calls or is there some cosmic force in the universe that made them
pull their heads out at the same time.  Did anyone else notice this and/or
care to speculate on the cause/reason for this phenomenon?
