Read your rule book! There are no game disqualifications or sanctions for an
equipment violation. Maine had a 2 minute power play to make up for the fact
that the stick was not conforming to the rules. In future games with BU any
opposing coach has the right to challenge the legality of Degerman's stick or
any other player's stick for that matter. If the stick proves to be illegal,
they get another powerplay. If it turns out to be legal the tables are
turned. There are plenty of questionable sticks being used in major college
hockey and also a lot of questionable goaltender equipment.

The oversized curve is an overrated advantage to a player's shot giving him a
little more lift on the forehand shot at the expense of accuracy on the
backhand and puck control. But the oversized curve does not turn a division 1
college hockey players shot into one of a youth hockey player.
