From where I was sitting, it looked like the puck went into the goal off
Rutter's thigh.  I remember that Taylor waved the goal off right away
without conferring with anyone, so I'd guess it was pretty clear-cut from
his angle.
 
As for why a Cornell/Colgate game on Long Island?  I'd speculate because
both schools have such a large alumni base in the area and there isn't
really any other D-I hockey nearby.  (Obvious Islanders comments omitted)
