Except that a few years back RPI actually WAS considering a jump to HE.  It
came very close to happening.  RPI formed a committee to study the idea.
 
The Vermont rumor is hearsay but it supposedly originates from a knowledgeable
source.  I heard it a month ago.  Maybe conjecture, maybe not.  If it's true
there will be some red-faced Vermont media people who disparaged HE when
it split from the ECAC.
