I thought they *had* decided - these were going to COUNT .... The press
kit outlining the background/status of the IceBreaker Tournament (that I
picked up in Milwaukee last April) in its original Chicago location
clearly states that these were to count as regular-season contests, and
were NOT exhibitions. The NC$$ had even been successfully petitioned to
exempt these games from each team's 34-game limit. It was only after I
flew half-way across the country to attend these games that the local
papers revealed that Parker had prevailed upon his colleagues to
apparently disregard the original intent / purpose of the Tourney, and
instead view them as "exhibitions." We'll see if the NC$$ ultimately buys
into this power play. Parker is being disingenuous when he states that
he thought all along these were NOT going to count; surely he would have
clarified this BEFORE agreeing to participate ?? As a UNH fan and wary
watcher of Parker's antics for many years, none of this surprises me, but
had BU lost both games I would have been delighted to have BU "officially"
start 0-2. At 1-1 it just doesn't matter ....

  Cheers from Maryland - Jim
