Is this rule "new"? From what I understand, home jerseys were always
intended to be "light" and away jerseys "dark." Also, techinically during
tournaments, neither team is home or away.
 
The special occaision jerseys should be allowed just for the sake of
tradition, if nothing else. Michigan has adorned their gold jerseys ever
since I could remember. How long exactly have special occaision jerseys
been in use?
