I have spent all summer coming up with my 1902 NCAA All-American team
plus my favorite mascot.

First Team:
Goalie: Marty Turco (not the Michigan one, this one immigrated from
Poland in 1898 after a onion fammon). He played for University of Elise
Island class of 1903

Forwards:
Frank Slavavosticaskowski (he's from St. Paul Minnesota) and played on
Minnesota when they were a club team (Title IV caused problems for them)

Igor Smith (he's French-Canadian and played for the LSSU Frogs before
they were lakers) This team was there before the locks were built.

Matt "Rabid Squirrel" Bressett (his name is still popular among
Cornell's fans and alumni. In fact, they still have a mascot which
looks like a rabid squirrel skating before each game.) Matt was also in
the band and has taken credit for the "you suck" chant Michigan has
perfected (which was actually invented in 1901 but he will leave it
debate in hockey-l)

Defencemen:

William "The Iceburg" Pollywogiski who played defencemen for the
University of Chicago's football team, never stepped foot on ice, but
must be the best defencemen and Chicago school has ever seen on campus.

Hobey Baker (some stupid award is named after his cousin, Hobey Baker)
He had a mean slap shot at Yale, and set a record for most penalty
minutes. His cousin, Hobey, played at Princeton but the wimp would
never drop the gloves.

Mascots:
Cornell's Rabid Squirrel (before the dark times, before the rabies)
Michigan's Skunk Bear (before Alumni figured "Wolverine sounded better)
Minnesota's 'Yeah, there's gophers in Minnesota' Rodent (The first
gopher was from Ithica New York)

Best Ref:
Grandpa Shegos

Worst Ref:
Grandpa Shegos (the other one)

Coach:
Ty Newberry (West Virginia) he was actually born in 1887 in Ionia,
Michigan.
