I don't understand how UVM gets lumped in with the New York teams
instead of New England. In this breakdown, both Hockey East and the
Empire Athletic have nine teams. If you put UVM in Hockey East (where
they geographically belong), you solve some scheduling problems and
leave room in the EAC for expansion (Iona, maybe Buff State...).

This also works out well for the Ivies -- especially if Pennsylvania
gets a legitimate program. O.K., there's no Columbia, but we played
football without Columbia for years. :)

The three conferences also allow more opportunities for NC games against
CCHA and WCHA teams and top independents. The NCAAs could expand to a
sixteen-team field: conference tournament and regular season champs from
each conference (theoretically as many as 10 teams) filled in with
at-large bids.

So, do we take a vote now or what?
