First, Denver's Laaksonen and Erik Andersson (and BU's Kaj Linna last year)
both fall into a special category because they are European players. Thus,
they could be drafted after their 20th birday, just like any other European
players. For non-European players, their last draft year is the year they
turn 20 (i.e. this year would be cut off for players born in 1977).

Second, Lee Goren is a big (6'3 200) rightwing who had to sit out this past
year because he played two games of major junior hockey in the WHL in 95-96.
He played most of 95-96 in Minot of the Sask. Junior league, and posted 35
goals, 26 assists. He had originally committed to Mich.Tech, then decided on
North Dakota, where he sat out 96-97 waiting to become eligible. The Boston
Globe quoted him as saying he would like to go pro, possibly after next year.
 born: 12-26-77.
