You know, the only observation I can offer, is that if the
amount of income is finite, something has to be cut to fund a
new activity.
I read that Maine has decided to depend on private funds to
expand its female participation. But what if the private funds
do not materialize? In order to comply, they have to (a)
increase the amount of $ devoted to the athletic department
and earmark it to the underrepresented gender, or (b) cut
something from the overrepresented gender (males) and
allocate it to the women's programs?
Am I totally out of wack on this?
Another question, did the cost of Maine's appeal come out of
the athletic budget or from the general fund?
