The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal did a nice job of covering the Frozen Four.
They had 2 full pages for the preview and the results from the semi's, a
page before the finals, and over a page today (Sunday). The score made the
front page next to the basketball scores, and it was the first article
after the banner on the front page of sports. This included a color
picture perfectly framed of the Sioux bench after the empty net goal.
Right along the boards in front of the celebrating players was the word,
"CHAMPIONS" from the sign, "NCAA HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS". There were the
obvious articles about the underdog nature of the team, and of a waterbug
player named Dave Hoogsteen, at 5-7 140#, who was everywhere on the ice.
"Dave Hoogsteen is't going to check anybody," Blais helpfully noted when
talking about his player. The media also seemed to convey a VERY modest
TEAM, with each interview noting the strength, and determination of a team,
not of any individual. This can be easily be noted in the fact that the
Hobey candidate from ND, Jason Blake, not even making the all tourney team.
Also of note is that the tourney MOP (Most Outstanding Player) plays on the
3rd line, and is a walk-on, and Hoogsteen refering to Michigan as " a great
bunch of of guys" and "great individuals," and he congratulated Brendon
Morrison on winning the Hobey. He also said, "Winning the national
championships, that means you're the best team."

Michael Bauman writes, "Who are these guys, besides blurs? They are not
the biggest names in collegiate hockey. They mearly make up the best
team." And as Coach Parker added, the most relentless.

Also of note is that 3 different writers from the journal covered the
event, and on the evening news I saw the hockey coverage lead off 2 local
newscasts, and the sports on 3 different channels. After Cincinatti it's
nice to see that there is a place that appreciates the national
championships.
