I don't doubt that the goal wasn't disallowed because no replay
view actually showed Matt Garver throwing the puck into the net.
Never mind that all views showed that there was no stick (except
Garver's motionless one) within 15 feet of the puck, which was
clearly under Garver.  Any intelligent use of replay would
disallow the goal, because the replays confirmed that there was
no legal way the puck could have crossed the goal line.  Maybe
the replay official doesn't have the the authority to rule this
way, but he should.
 
For what it's worth, Pete Tufford reported during Saturday's
broadcast that Jason Dailey's parents and Garver's parents are
good friends and that the Garvers told the Daileys that Matt had
said, of course he threw it in.  But no one really doubts that,
anyway, do they?
