I definitely agree. The reffing was pathetic. I certainly hope Woog sends
clips in and gets them suspended like the refs that blew the call earlier
this year.

I don't know that I could call them biased because the Friday night game
was decent. What happened between Friday and Saturday is beyond me but
they sure seemed to have it in for the gophers and let Denver get away with
just about anything. I'm actually shocked that they called a fighting
penalty against Denver inconjunction with Mike Lyon's getting a
Fighting/Game Misconduct.

Schmidt wasn't even supposed to be the Referee this weekend. He was
supposed to be elsewhere but weather caused a change.

Funny how the linesman Shepard has been at almost every game the gophers
have had terrible officiating..... (he was one of the 3 suspended too)

>Woog in his post game interview had some terrific comments indirectly
>bashing the officials. (He couldn't comment directly or would be fined
>by the WCHA and NCAA) Once during the game on the bench he was
>seen chopping a stick in the air towards the officials.

Woog was also pissed off enough that after the first period ended he stay
and stood on the bench until everyone had gone into the dressing room and
the refs were at their exit door. It appeared he wanted to talk to the
Head Ref at one point during the period but Schmidt wouldn't even go near
the gopher bench. Yet Schmidt cruised on over to talk to the Denver coach
in the same period without any hesitation.

don't ya just love officiating? I really have to wonder how a group like
that can be decent one night and so poor the next night. Makes a person
really wonder if they aren't trying to even things up....

But, as the originator of this email said - it's NOT a total excuss for a
loss. On several occasions Rasmussen was jsut standing and watching plays
take place in his own end. Others didn't play up to their norms either.
Minnesota is in for a long "rest of the season" if they don't start playing
top-notch from opening faceoff to the end.
