I posted this on the high school list, but thought some of it would be of
interest to (Minnesota) college hockey fans.

Duluth East has clinched a third consecutive Lake Superior Conference
championship with a win over Proctor Monday night, and have come within one
step of an unbeaten conference season with a 7-2 win over Duluth Denfeld
last night. The unbeaten season would be the first since 1983 in the LSC
and only the second since 1964. The Greyhounds have won 11 consecutive
games and are 12-0 in the conference, with just Thursday's matchup with
Cloquet-Esko-Carlton at the DECC at 8PM left on the conference schedule.
East outshot Denfeld 40-9 Tuesday, and snapped Denfeld's (10-9-0) 5 game
winning streak. Dave Spehar, a University of Minnesota recruit, has
36-30-66 for the 18-2-0 Hounds, giving him 270 points so far in his 4 year
career. East has outscored its last 3 LSC opponents 28-3.
