Today's Minnesota Daily blurb:

Gophers' Bonin, DeBus top nation's statistical leaders

The Gophers hockey team, ranked No. 1 for the first time this season, also
has some impressive
statistics at the national level.

Senior center Brian Bonin leads the nation with 55 points (21 goals and 34
assists). Bonin has
scored 15 points in his last five games.

Sophomore goalie Steve DeBus leads the nation in save percentage (.927) and
is third in
goals-against average (2.04). DeBus, who currently has a 12-game winning
streak, has played 155
minutes, 30 seconds since giving up his last goal.

As a team, the Gophers rank first in the nation in scoring defense (2.32),
first in winning
percentage (23-3-2, .857), third in penalty-killing percentage (.863) and
fourth in power-play
percentage (.268).

Other Gophers in the top 10 individually include senior goalie Jeff Moen,
who is tied for fourth in
winning percentage with DeBus, and eighth in GAA (2.42). Bonin is tied for
fourth in
game-winning goals, eighth in assists per game (1.21) and ninth in points
per game (1.96).
