Being a right-handed goalie forced to shoot left, I'm definitely not an expert
but... I've talked to a few players who I know are right handed and learned to
shoot left from a young age so that their dominant hand (right) is at the top
of the stick for stronger poke checks, reach-ins and wrap-arounds while
maintaining a hard shot. Seemed to make sense to me and if I could learn how
to shoot pucks left-handed with a trapper and blocker *anybody* can,
especially forwards and defencemen!

just my $.02 worth,
Dave Chapman
