This reference is to the maturity level of the program.  UMD hockey has
been around a long time at its present level.  St. Cloud hockey has only
existed at this level since 90-91.  Up till then they were the best of the
D2-3.  They have moved to a new, tougher level of hockey and need to learn
how to handle the pressure and expectations of this new level along with
the competition.  This happens as a program, not just individual players.
The experience is passed down from class to class and the school is only
getting to the point where it has enough experience to realize that they
can win at any time against anyone.
Two years ago was the first time they beat the gophers . . . ever.  Now
they need to put that knowledge to use and believe that they can beat
anyone, at this level, anytime.
