In reply to Michael J. Breitner, who said: "...Northern State Univ., a
minor club hockey program from South Dakota, beat Illinois at the
A.C.H.A. National tourney last March."

ACTUALLY, that was Illinois' A.C.H.A.-Division II team that lost to
Northern. Illinois fields two hockey teams, and the Division II Illinois
team consists mainly of players who were cut from the much more
competitive Division I Fighting Illini team. On campus, the Division II
team is thought of as the junior varsity (although rarely do players move
up or down between the teams).

The A.C.H.A. consists of Division I and Division II teams. Both levels
have their own national tournaments, and the difference in competition
between the two levels is equivalent to that between N.C.A.A. Division I
and Division III teams. Top A.C.H.A. Division I teams are: Ohio Univ.,
Penn State, Iowa State, Illinois, Arizona, Michigan-Dearborn,...
