For all of you who refuse to recognize the A.C.H.A. as a viable,
competitive alternative, here's are some facts:
 
        - The University of Illinois-Champaign's A.C.H.A. Division I Fighting
Illini have scheduled N.C.A.A.-opponent Illinois-Chicago for a
mid-November match-up.
 
        - Since 1957, sold-out crowds have jammed the University of Illinois
Ice Arena for Fighting Illini hockey games.  Last season, record crowds
stuffed the 2,100-seat Arena for every home game.  The Illini outdraw most
N.C.A.A. Division III schools as well as many Division I teams every
year.
        - Last year, Penn State (the A.C.H.A.'s championship runner-up)
lost to the No. 1 ranked N.C.A.A. Division II team - 5 to 4 in overtime.
 
        - The Fighting Illini hockey team is the third largest spectator
sport on campus - behind football and men's basketball.  The team receives
daily newspaper, radio, and television coverage.  Last year, five of the
team's home games were broadcast locally on television.
 
        - The University of Arizona's A.C.H.A. team averages close to
6,000 fans per game at the Tucson Convention Center, earning it a spot
among the top draws in all of college hockey.
 
        Just a little push for the A.C.H.A.!
