Since I don't follow the other conferences closely enough to make educated
predictions (no I don't have a satellite dish) I can only make a s
semi-intelligent prediction for the ECAC. But for the sake of controversy, I'll
make two predictions: one based on talent, the other on intangibles.

                  Talent
1. Vermont No one else close. Perrin, Tim Thomas et. al. tip the scales.
2. Colgate Great big forwards. Close checking defenseman. Robbed by RPI.
3. Clarkson Need a new D but they always seem to come up with players.
4. Harvard Iffy, Tripp Tracy better goalie than last year. No Steve Martins.
5. RPI-- Need scoring. Sophomores must step up. Still have Mike in goal.
6. St. Lawrence--Maturing team should be in every game.
7. Brown--Lost a bit from last year.
8. Cornell--Has to be better than last year.
9. Union--got a goaltender last year, not much else
10. Princeton--will miss the seniors
11. Yale--Could be tenth
12. Dartmouth--See Yale

                Intangibles
1. Clarkson--Seem to be the one ECAC team that is consistently competitve
2. Colgate--Will need a good coach job to win at Lake Placid.
3. Vermont--Sorry, but the Catamounts never win the ECAC. Could even finish 4th
4. RPI--If Fridge inculcates defensive hockey into the team, could overachieve.
5. Harvard--Wonder if the chemistry is there. Look for freshman input.
6. St. Lawrence--Too scared to pick them highter.
7. Cornell--Throw-away to all the Cornell fans on the list.
8. Brown--Will have to find leadership in a hurry.
9-12 Re-arrange according to who has most emotion. Would guess Union is the
best of the lot.

Looking forward to another close ECAC/HE series. But I've got to say there is s
no ECAC team even close to BU or Maine. So watch for the upsets!
