As typical, I didn't bring the award results from the
University of Michigan end of season banquet (held
last night) to work today, so this is from memory:

AL RENFREW SCHOLARSHIP
Bryan Deasley (given to a former Michigan player
currently attending or enrolling in graduate school)

DEKER (BOOSTER) OF THE YEAR
Hockey-L's own Jim & Cathy Leonard, for their work
with the publication, INSIDE THE GOAL CREASE

SCHOLAR ATHLETE
SO LW Jason Botterill (3.56 GPA)

MOST GENTLEMANLY PLAYER
JR C Kevin Hilton (14 PIM this year / 38 PIM in 114 games)

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
SO LW John Madden (21-22--43 up from 6-11--17)

MOST COLORFUL ROOKIE
FR G Marty Turco (27-7-1 / 2.76 / 89.4)

BEST DEFENSEMAN
JR D Steven Halko (2-14--16 / +30)
Halko is a repeat winner from 1993-94

LEADING SCORER
SO C Brendan Morrison (23-53--76)

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
SR RW Mike Knuble (38-22--60 in 34 games)

Other noteworthy items:

Michigan captains for 1995-96 will be voted on
later in the week.

Hat trick awards were given to Jason Botterill, Kevin
Hilton, Mike Knuble (4), Mike Legg, Warren Luhning,
John Madden, Brendan Morrison (2) and Bill Muckalt.

Coach Red Berenson presented SR G Al Loges
with his first letterman jacket, and Loges received
a standing ovation. Following limited action in each
of his first three seasons, Al played 11 games in
1994-95. His career totals are 3-1-0, 2.78 and 90.2
in 22 career games (4 starts).

A special award was given to WTKA radio's Ken
Kal, the voice of Michigan hockey.

Mike Knuble mentioned that he has the opportunity
to play for Team USA in the upcoming World
Championships.
