This game was as close as you can come to a ref deciding the result of the
game. With LSSU on the powerplay early in the third period, our ever
capable referee steve piotrowski found himself in the way of the play and
managed to knock the glove and stick off the uic defenseman deep in the
UIC zone. This lead almost directly to a powerplay goal that ended up to
be the game winner. For the rest of the game I felt that the officials
did a good job to the best of their ability.
This was a well played game by both teams with the lakers getting off to
a better start and UIC responding in the 2nd and an even third period.
Flame Notes:
UIC has defeated both Michigan and LSSU in one season for the first time
since the '91-'92 campaign......Shannon finn now has 30 points this season
for a career high......
