Remember the goalie I mentioned who was a Merrimack recruit for the
upcoming season, Fernandez?  The guy who was second to Patrick Roy
as far as goalies who came out of his league in Quebec?  Well, it looks
like it may have been too good to be true.  He was drafted by Laval
of the QMJHL and has been offered big bucks to play major junior.  I
will be surprised if he still ends up at Merrimack this fall.  I've
already run out of Kleenex here at my desk.
 
Also, Merrimack will still not be playing Western Michigan despite the
NCAA ruling regarding the CCHA & league games.  The Warriors have picked
up Alaska-Anchorage for a home game that weekend, 11/29.  That gives them
9 of 12 nonleague games at home for 91-92.
