It was fun, but it wasn't real hockey.

What WAS interesting was seeing how some of BU's present players faired
against some of BU's alumni-NHL types.

With Keith Tkuchuk, Tony Amonte, Scott Lachance, and Scott Young on hand, we
got to see some of our present players abused and taught a thing or two, see
some (like Brennan and Grier) fair well in some respects, yet have an NHL'er
pull something and beat 'em on better knowledge learned in the pro's, and have
a few present players surprise everyone (well, me and the alumni team) with
their talent.

Chris O'Sullivan is a future NHL'er.

Although still not refined yet, the raw talent he displayed had a few of the
NHL'ers running around at times. This was impressive.

Jacques Joubert is getting even better each week. He seems to not only have
talent, but be able to outthink everyone out there on the ice.

Chris Drury (frosh) seems like he's going to make an impact. Heck, he looked
like one of out better forwards out there.

Shawn Bates seems faster and was giving the alumni all they could handle.

Goaltending, past and present.

Cleon Daskalakis (BU'84?) is/was a god.

Until Cleon got tired in the third, this was a 6-4 game. Forgetting stamina,
Cleon looks better than anything we have at the present time.

Herlofsky still needs to get the rust out.

Noble can make some great saves, but he needs to learn how to cover/control a
rebound. He left out FAAAARRRR to many of them. Heck, he played the entire
third period, and the only goal he gave up was a Scott Young putback (left out
a rebound) of a Tony Amonte end-to-end rush.

Ferullo came on in relief of Daskalakis for the alumni team (they needed a
backup) and looked *REALLY* bad. Cleon left after giving up 2 goals to make
the score 8-4... Ferullo gave up 5 goals in apx 16 minutes, most of them
softies. <Ferullo is obviously the #3> He's a really nice kid, but based on
last night's performance, let's hope our #1 (Herlofsky) and #2 (Noble) stay
healthy.

Well, other than that, I can't wait for real hockey to begin for BU next week.

Se ya all later,
