Former Gophers hockey defenseman Jordan Leopold has been named
the Big Ten male athlete of the year.
Leopold is the second hockey player to win the award, following 2001
recipient Ryan Miller of Michigan State. Penn State soccer player Christie
Welsh was named the Big Ten female athlete of the year.
