According to the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championsips Handbook at
http://www.ncaa.org/library/handbooks/iceHockey/2002/2002_d1_m_icehockey.pdf
there was a tournament selection conference call January 15 and
there'll be another one on Tuesday. Does anyone know what goes/went
on at these conference calls? In particular, I've read speculation on
the USCHO bulletin board that the NCAA may have fewer teams crossing
over than in the past, in order to reduce travel in the wake of the
September 11 attacks. Does anyone have any information about this, or
any other changes in selection niceties (e.g., regional placement)
beyond what's in the championship's manual?

I'm going to try to do an "If the Season Ended Today" to coincide with
each of these conference calls; the latest one (assuming the procedure
is more or less the same) is at

http://slack.net/~whelan/tbrw/tbrw.cgi?2002/pairwise.020115

and in general the current one should be at

http://slack.net/~whelan/tbrw/tbrw.cgi?pairwise.current

(As always, you can find these under http://slack.net/hockey/ )
