Err, there's a varsity hockey program at Wisconsin and Minnesota too,
BTW :-) I wonder, though, would this have _any_ effect at all on hockey,
since hockey isn't a Big10 sport?
This doesn't seem so bad. It'll keep cut-happy schools like Wisconsin
from dropping their promising women's athletic programs just because
they don't draw big crowds. As the Wisconsin women's volleyball team
showed a couple years back, when you do well, the crowds come and the
athletic dept makes money.
I agree with another comment -- why not make it a percentage equal to
the number of female undergrads?
