After a weekend of relative normalcy, some insanity returned to the
ECAC playoffs.

#9 Cornell 3 at #1 Quinnipiac 2 (Cornell leads series 1-0)
A pair of power-play goals by Brian Ferlin gave the Big Red the upset
win over the top-seeded Bobcats. Ferlin scored at 0:23 of the second
period to tie the game at 1-1, and then scored the game-winner at
13:44 of the second to break a 2-2 tie. Kellen Jones had the other
Cornell goal, while Connor Jones and Kellen Jones scored for the
Bobcats. Quinnipiac outshot Cornell 35-20, with Andy Iles making 33
saves for Cornell. The Big Red went 2-for-3 on the power-play, while
Quinnipiac was 1-for-5. Quinnipiac is now 3-3-1 in the last month,
after rattling off a 21-game unbeaten streak earlier in the year.

#7 Brown 3 at #2 RPI 1 (Brown leads series 1-0)
Michael Juola scored the game-winner for the Bears with 1:44 left in
regulation, breaking a 1-1 tie. Matt Lorito had put the Bears on the
board at 8:09 of the first, with Jacob Laliberte tying the game for
RPI on a power-play goal with 57 seconds left in the second. Mark
Naclerio added an empty-netter for the Bears. Brown outshot RPI 29-27,
with Anthony Borelli of Brown and RPI's Jason Kasdorf each making 26
saves.

at #3 Yale 6, #6 St. Lawrence 1 (Yale leads series 1-0)
St. Lawrence scored first on a goal by Tommy Thompson, but after that
it all went horribly wrong for the Saints, as they fell 6-1 in the
Yale Whale. Andrew Miller scored the first and last goals for Yale,
who led 2-1 after the first and 4-1 after the second, while Antoine
Laganiere, Jesse Root, Ryan Obuchowski and Kenny Agostino added one
each. Yale outshot SLU 48-13, and ran two goalies from the Saints net.
Matt Weninger started and played the first two periods, making 28
saves. He was replaced by Kyle Macdonald to start the third, but he
let in two goals on his first three shots (after only 3:21) and was
quickly replaced by David Grilk, who stopped all 13 shots he faced.
Jeff Malcolm made 12 saves for Yale.

at #4 Union 4, #5 Dartmouth 1 (Union leads series 1-0)
Daniel Carr had a pair of goals to lead the Dutchmen to the
series-opening win. He opened the scoring at 9:46 of the first, and
scored the Dutchmen's third goal at 9:14 of the third. Dartmouth tied
the game at 15:12 of the second on a goal by Tyler Sikura, who later
received a major and game misconduct in the third period for contact
to the head. Daniel Campini restored the Union lead with 2:01 left in
the second, and Mat Bodie's empty-net goal put the game away. Union
outshot Dartmouth 41-32, with Troy Grosenick making 31 saves for Union
and Charles Grant stopping 37 shots for Dartmouth.

All four series resume on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
