Let's answer some questions here:
- Union not as a co-host with RPI in the NCAA Tourney
This has to do with the Albany Sports Foundation. They are the ones that
initiate the bid and they go to the school that they wish to co-sponsor with.
That school that they want is RPI. Therefore, RPI is the host school for the
tournament.
- Union giving scholarships
It ain't that easy. The president of the college, Roger Hull, has steadfastly
stuck to the school's principles -- that there are no athletic scholarships, need-
based or otherwise, to be offered. It is a principle that he is standing on and
that is what he is sticking to. So it ain't that easy that he just says, ok, let's
give scholarships now. Overheard coming out of Hull's mouth, "Why do we
need to give scholarships? We beat RPI this year."
- Local coverage
Fairweather coverage, just like fairweather fans. You do well, you get coverage.
You suck, you don't get coverage. Plain and simple.
- Ed Dague
He's not an RPI alum, he never graduated.
- Union moving out of Division I
Ain't gonna happen. Never will.
Thank you for your attention.
