I seem to recall, and this is very unconfirmed, that he is
going to attend Notre Dame.  I think you are right about his
ability, he may be among the best three players in the state
so going to Notre Dame does not make hockey sense.

Why?
 
He might just want to be on the ground floor of Dave Poulin's
resurgence of ND Hockey.  He can start right away, get
major minutes, and by the time he's a senior, he may own
every record there is at ND.
 
Did his father go to Notre Dame??  That's another
consideration.  Sure the hockey facility does not compare to
a lot of the WCHA or CCHA schools, but it is NOTRE
DAME, not Bilgewater State.
 
Hey, let the kid play hockey.  This ain't Texas and this ain't
football.
