Bob Gaudet, who has led the Brown University ice hockey program from the
bottom to near the top of its league in the last seven seasons, was amount
three candidates interviewed yesterday for the vacant head coaching position
at Ohio State.
Two assistant coaches, Mel Pearson of Michigan and Mike Kemp of
Wisconsin, also met with an atheletic department search committee and later
had one-on-one interviews with atheletic director Andy Geiger.
Neither Geiger nor associate atheletic director Archie Griffin, who heads
the committee, would say the interview process, which began a month ago, has
been completed. But "I think we're pretty close to having a good thing."
Geiger said.
