With Denver's Frank Salavatorre (sorry) Serratore, I think
it's time to compile a list of coaches in danger of not being
back next year, and coaches who might have come close but wrere
saved by big years.
From the East:
Mike McShane, Providence
Brian McCutcheon, Cornell
I know the PC AD has not been happy with McShane dxx for the last few years
and whxx was very non-committal when I asked him about McShane's contract
situation a few weeks back. Losing their last nine on their way to
a fifth place finish didn't hel p much. Their recruiting and attendance
have fallen WAY off. Change might be in order.
McCutcheon has not endeared himself to the Red alumni and with Kennedy
gone, McCutcheons performance over the last few years may get him the pink slip.
Saved by big years.
Ben Smith, Northeastern
Wins and coaches ugly but got the job done whih is more than can
be said for CC. :)
Steve Cedorchuk, Boston College
Beanpot win does the job along with slight record improvement
It jxx helps that the administration and alumni care little
for hockey in the first place (see baskeball and football))
Bruce Devanthal, Union
Union became the chic team in thje ECAC playoffs, nuff said.
Any thoughts. How 'bout out west?
